Overview
  1. What is Pix Place?

    Pix Place is an online service that is included with each activation of Picture/Video Messaging. At the Pix Place web site you can:

    • Store your favorite picture/video messages from your picture/video messaging phone*.
    • Create and name your own online photo albums*.
    • Upload and send images from your computer's hard drive.
    • Invite friends and family to view albums*.
    • Create your own picture/video messages online with your own pictures/videos, sounds and text.
    • Enhance your picture with "Fun Effects" like brightness, crop, antique, black & white, soft focus, comic bubble, cartoon, and line drawing effects.
    • Choose images and sounds from the free "Gallery" to include in your messages.


    *Pix Place registration required.

    Note: Not all picture messaging phones have video messaging capability. However, all video messaging phones will have both picture/video messaging capability.

  3. How do I register for Pix Place?
    1. Using your web browser, navigate to vzwpix.com.
    2. Locate and select Join Up.
    3. Enter your 10-digit mobile phone number. Use ONLY numbers. Do not enter dashes, symbols, or spaces.
    4. Click the Register button. Your temporary password will be sent to your mobile handset as a text message.
    5. After you have received your temporary password, enter your mobile number and temporary password in the appropriate boxes. (Note: Passwords are case-sensitive.)
    6. Enter your desired new password into the New Password field. You will need this password each time you log back in to PIX Place.
    7. Re-enter your new password in the Re-enter Password field to confirm spelling.
    8. In addition, Verizon Wireless gives an option to have upcoming promotions and special offers sent to your wireless device. If you don't want to receive this information, just select the No button.
    9. Click Save to store your new password.

  4. How do I login to PIX Place?

    Simply enter your 10-digit mobile number (using ONLY numbers and NO dashes or spaces) and enter your password. (Note: Passwords are case-sensitive. You must type it exactly as you did when you registered. If you would like PIX Place to remember your mobile number and/or password on subsequent logins, check the appropriate Remember My check boxes when logging in for the first time.)

    1. Click GO.
    2. If this is your initial login, you will be prompted with the Terms & Conditions page. You must read and accept the Terms & Conditions by selecting Accept and clicking OK.
    3. You are now logged in to PIX Place.

  5. I have registered for vtext.com, do I need to register for PIX Place?
    No. Your 10-digit mobile number and vtext.com password can be used to login to PIX Place.

  6. I forgot my password. How can I retrieve it?

    Using your web browser, navigate to vzwpix.com.

    1. Locate and click on Forgot Password.
    2. Enter your 10-digit mobile number (using ONLY numbers and NO dashes or spaces).
    3. Click SEND.
    4. Click Close.
    5. Your password will be sent to your handset as a text message.

  7. What versions of Internet browsers and Apple® QuickTime® player are needed to use PIX Place?

    The chart below lists the browser and AppleŽ QuickTime® player combinations that are needed when using PIX Place:.

    IE 5.5 and later running on Microsoft Windows 98 & XP, 2000, NT, ME. QuickTime 6.5.1 and greater
    Netscape 7.2 and later running on Microsoft Windows 98 & XP. QuickTime 6.5.2 and greater
    AOL 8.0 and later running on Microsoft Windows 98 & XP, 2000 QuickTime 6.5.2 and greater
    Safari 1.3 and later on Mac OS X (version 10.1.X and later) QuickTime 6.5.1 and greater
    Mozilla Firefox Version 1.0.4 and later on Windows 98 & XP, 2000, NT, ME, and MAC OS X (version 10.1.X and later) QuickTime 6.5.2 and greater

    If you have Netscape 7.2 and AppleŽ QuickTimeŽ player less than version 6.5.2 and go to the PIX Place web site, you will be provided with the PIX Place message "If you are using Apple QuickTime 6.5.1 you must upgrade your QuickTime version to utilize the PIX Place Multi-media Message Composer. It is further suggested that you refer to the PIX Place FAQs for the latest suggested Browser and Apple QuickTime combinations." At this point you will need to go to the Apple web site www.apple.com; and upgrade the version of QuickTime before PIX Place can utilized.

    PIX Place will provide automatic QuickTime upgrade messages for all other browser/ QuickTime combinations that do not meet the above minimum standards.

Creating and Sending Messages
  1. Does it cost me to send picture messages from PIX Place?
    No. However, if you send a picture / video message to a friend's Verizon Wireless phone, he/she will be charged for receiving either a picture message, video message or a text message, depending on what type of phone they have.

    Note: At this time you cannot send messages from Pix Place to subscribers with non Verizon Wireless phones. You can however send to any your messages to any valid E-Mail addresses.

  2. How do I compose a picture message using files uploaded to Pix Place?
    1. Login to PIX Place.
    2. Mouse over the Create Messages tab and click on Send PIX/FLIX Message from the drop down menu.
    3. From the left-hand side, select the Folder that contains the desired images.
    4. Click and drag the thumbnail of the media element(s) from the center window and drop them on empty slides in the right most window.
    5. Click on Preview & Send.
    6. In the Send To field enter the recipients (up to ten mobile numbers or valid E-Mail addresses separated by commas) of the message.
    7. In the Subject field enter the message subject and click SEND.
    8. Click OK.

  3. What file types can I use to create picture / video messages?

    You can compose messages using images, audio files, video files, and text.

    The following image types can be used to create a picture message/video message:

    • JPEG (*.jpg, *.jpeg, *.jpe)
    • BMP (*.bmp)
    • PNG (*.png)
    • GIF (*.gif)
    • 3G2 (*.3g2)
    • 3GP (*.3gp)
    • MPEG4 (*.mpg)


    The following audio type can be used to create a picture message:

  4. What is a slide?

    A slide can consist of three elements: one picture or video, audio, and text.* If all three elements are contained within a slide, the audio file plays while the picture and text are presented on the screen of the handset. A message composed at PIX Place can contain up to 9 slides.

    *In the special case of a video media element, only text can be added to the single slide when composing the message.

  5. I am a Verizon Wireless customer but am having problems sending a picture message from PIX Place. Who can I contact?

  6. Can I compose and send video messages from PIX Place?
    Yes. But in the case of a video message, only one slide can be populated with the video media element and only text can be added to the slide. With picture messages, a maximum of 9 slides can be composed with a picture, text and audio for each slide if desired.

  7. Can I send picture/video messages from Pix Place to my friend's non-Verizon Wireless phone?

    No, however you can send picture/video messages from your phone to your friend's non-Verizon Wireless phone, as long as your friend uses one of the following carrier's service:

    • Nextel
    • T-Mobile

    * Note: With regard to video messages, Cingular will only accept video messages with file sizes of 100Kb or less.  If this size is exceeded, Cingular will deliver the message, but not the video attachment. Verizon Wireless phones are capable of recording videos of 30 seconds length and 200Kb file size.  Before sending your video message to a Cingular friend, make sure to check the size of the video to make sure it is 100Kb or less in size.  All video messages sent from Cingular customers to Verizon Wireless customers will be delivered.

  2. How do I send a picture from the Gallery after I have logged in?

Media Store
  1. What is the Media Store?
    The Media Store is a special gallery that allows you to purchase cool wallpapers to customize your phone. Simply click on the Media Store tab on the top of any of the Pix Place pages to enter the Media Store and check out the newest available wallpapers.

  2. How do I order wallpapers for my phone?
    1. Sign onto PIX Place.
    2. Click on the Media Store tab at the top of the page.
    3. Select your phone from the drop down list of supported phone models. If you care not sure what model you have, click on the "Can't find your phone?" link and follow the instructions to determine what model you have and select it.
    4. Select a wallpaper from the displayed wallpapers or browse a different category from the list of wallpaper categories on the left.
    5. Confirm that you wish to buy the wallpaper.
    6. Accept the Terms and Conditions and click the "But and Sent to Me" button to complete your order. The wallpaper will be delivered to your phone momentarily. Once delivered, you can save the wallpaper and set it as your wallpaper on your phone.

Ordering Prints
  1. How do I order prints of my pictures on PIX Place?
    1. Navigate to the Gallery from which you wish to order prints.
    2. Click on the Order Prints button.
    3. Select the pictures you would like to print or click on the "Select All" check box to select all the pictures in the Gallery.
      NOTE: Only JPEG and TIF picture types will display for printing.
    4. Select the Print Fulfiller and delivery method on the right side. The "Pick Up at Store" option will provide local retailers from which you can pickup and pay for your prints. The "Receive by Mail" option requires a credit card for payment and will ship the prints right back to your home.
    5. Print the page that has your fulfiller contact information and save for your records. Click the Continue button and your prints will be transferred to the fulfiller website where your order (and payment, if paying by credit card) will be processed.
    6. Follow the instructions on the fulfiller site to complete your order.

  2. What are my print delivery options?
    1. The "Pick Up at Store" option will provide you local retail stores to choose for pick up of your prints. Depending on the retailer, you will 1-hour, 2-hour, or daily pickup options to choose from. With this option you will have the option of paying by credit card after you are transferred to the chosen print fulfiller web site or paying for your prints when you pick them up from the chosen retail store.
    2. The Receive by Mail option will deliver the prints to your home address. This option only allows for credit card payment, which will be processed after you are transferred to the chosen fulfiller web site.

  3. Who do I call if I have a question about my print order?
    For an order picked up at a retail store, the store will answer any questions or concerns for your print order. For an order delivered by mail, please contact the print fulfiller for any questions or concerns.

Online Photo Album
  1. How do I save a picture/video message that I received on my picture/video messaging phone to my online photo album on PIX Place?

    All you have to do is send a copy to your online photo album at PIX Place.

    1. Compose a picture/video message.
    2. Select Options or Menu (varies by phone) > OnlineAlbum or to Pix Place.
    3. Send the message.

  2. How many pictures or videos/files can I save in my online albums?

    You automatically have 75 messages of storage on PIX Place when you register; the usage meter on the site will let you know how much you have used. The message storage limit applies to files "saved" in albums you create and messages uploaded from your handset.

    Messages uploaded from your PC, saved in the "Drafts" album or "Sent Items" album are considered temporary and do not apply towards your storage unless the messages are "Saved" or moved to a user created album. These temporary messages can be found in the "My Messages Inbox" under the "Temporary Messages" tab.

    If your handset is not picture / video messaging capable, you will receive a text message directing you to view any picture/video messages that are sent to your phone on PIX Place using a PC with Internet access; these picture / video messages are also temporary and do not apply to your album storage.

    Note: You can have an unlimited number of temporary messages. All temporary messages will expire 7 days after receipt unless saved.

    You can now upgrade to unlimited Pix Place storage. Simply log in to Pix Place and select the "Get Unlimited Storage" link below the storage meter or under the "My Profile" tab. The Unlimited Storage feature costs $1.99 monthly and will be billed to your Verizon Wireless account. Note: the Unlimited Storage functionality on Pix Place is intended for personal use and cannot be utilized for commercial use. Please refer to the Pix Place Terms and Conditions for more details.

  3. Can I purchase additional storage?

  4. How do I create a new album to store my picture/video messages?
    1. Login to PIX Place.
    2. From MY MESSAGES click on CREATE ALBUM.
    3. From the drop-down list select where you want to create the album and then enter a name for your new album.
    4. Click on CREATE ALBUM.


    Note: Albums can only be created three levels deep from the root level.

  5. How do I upload media from my PC?
    1. Login to PIX Place.
    2. Create an Album if it has not been created yet.
    3. Click on the UPLOAD MEDIA tab.
    4. Click on the Browse for Media.
      Note: If you experience problems with Browse for Media tool, please click on Standard Upload.
    5. A window will open to browse the file folders on your PC. Locate, select and drag/drop up to 5 media files into the upload window.
    6. Click UPLOAD.
    7. You will be redirected to MY MESSAGES with the list of uploaded images.
    8. Select the images to save and click on MOVE.
    9. Select the desired Album and click MOVE.
    10. Click OK.

  6. How do I delete a picture/video message or Album from my Albums?
    1. Login to PIX Place.
      • Picture/video message:
        1. Select the pictures/videos you wish to delete by checking the check box next to the messages.
        2. Click on the Delete.
        3. To complete the process, confirm the deletion by clicking OK.
      • Album:
        1. From MY MESSAGES tab, locate and select the Album to be deleted.
        2. Click DELETE.
        3. Click OK to confirm deletion of the Album.

  7. Can I save a picture/video in more than one Album?
    Sure, just select the picture/video you wish to include in your album and click COPY. Then click on the Album where you want to store your copy, and click the COPY to complete the process.

  8. Do messages in my Sent folder on PIX Place expire?

    Yes.

    Note: Temporary/sent/drafts messages will expire 7 days after receipt unless the message is saved.

  9. Is the Inbox on my picture/video messaging phone the same as my PIX Place Inbox?

    No. If you have a picture/video messaging phone, your picture/video messages appear in the phone's Inbox. If you do not have a picture/video messaging phone, any picture/video messages sent to your phone will appear in your 'Inbox' under the 'Temporary Messages' tab within PIX Place.

    Note: Not all picture messaging phones have video messaging capability. However, all video messaging phones have both picture and video messaging capability.

  10. Can I share my personal albums?

    Yes. You can share your PIX Place albums through email share invitations that you create on PIX Place, so people across town, the country, and around the world can access your PIX Place albums. Your email invitation will contain a Go There button. If you decide to un-invite someone, the link that they received will be disabled and they won't be able to view your pictures/videos any longer. Just remember to use care when choosing with whom you share your albums, and always remind your friends never to forward your email invitations to other people without your permission. We recommend mentioning this in all of your invitations. This will help you control who sees your photos/videos.

    Note: Albums share links will expire after 30 days.

  11. How do I un-invite someone whom I've invited to see my personal albums?
    1. Login to PIX Place.
    2. From the MY MESSAGES tag, navigate to the shared Album.
    3. Click UN-SHARE ALBUM.
    4. Select the recipient(s) to un-share the album and click UN-SHARE.

  12. Does my Pix Place Account ever expire?

    Yes.  If you do not visit your Pix Place account at least once every 180 days, all albums and messages will be deleted.  You will receive two Free SMS text warnings on your phone at 150 days and 175 days of inactivity.  The messages are as follows:

    Pix Place account inactive for 150 days:   "FREE VZW Message. 1st Notice: Your Pix Place account has been inactive for 150 days.  Log onto www.vzwpix.com within 30 days or your top will be deleted."

    Pix Place account inactive for 170 days:  "FREE VZW Message. 2nd notice: Your Pix Place account has been inactive for 170 days.  Log onto www.vzwpix.com within 10 days or your top will be deleted."

    If you do not visit Pix Place within the 180 limit, you will receive the Free SMS text message when your account  and messages are deleted.  The message is as follows:

    Pix Place account inactive for 180 days:   "FREE VZW Message. Last notice: Your Pix Place account was inactive for 180 days so your top was deleted. Log onto www.vzwpix.com to keep using your account."

    To prevent your account expiring and all of your albums and messages from being deleted from Pix Place,  just login to Pix Place at www.vzwpix.com at least once every 180 days.
